FATZ was born in 1988, when a few friends got together and
decided they'd had enough of those huge,
you've-seen-one-you've-seen-them-all type of causal dining
restaurants. They wanted a place that was different. That had ties
to the surrounding area. That was setup to serve the community, not
some corporate bottom line.
While the first restaurant wasn't exactly fancy-it was a
converted roadside peach stand-it had what mattered most. Real,
honest to goodness hometown people, serving real delicious American
food for really great prices. That simple formula has been driving
our success for over 22 years. And it's helped develop a loyal
following with restaurants in small towns and mid-sized communities
throughout the Southeast.
Today, we're still serving classic favorites and offering a good
value. Our restaurants are run by folks who are part of their
communities and who have a vested interest in serving you, our
