TAYLORS, S.C. – FATZ® would like to acknowledge the charitable work of Operating Partner Warren Snell and his continued efforts to serve the Florence community. Snell was recently honored by the Greater Florence Chamber of Commerce as the 2011 Small Business Person of the Year, recognizing his never-ending mission to raise funds and awareness for local organizations. As a Reserve Deputy Sherriff, Snell often works with law enforcement officers on various projects to enrich the community of Florence by holding fundraisers at FATZ®. Most recently, Snell was named president of the Florence and Pee Dee Area Sports Council, where he will continue his community involvement through athletic tournaments, recreation team sports and school sports, including area universities. To say that Snell has established himself as a true leader in the Florence community is clearly an understatement.
Snell is responsible for spearheading two successful programs
for FATZ® -- the Calabash and Cops Tip-A-Cop event and Prom Promise
program. Calabash and Cops is an event that allows local law
enforcement officers to seat and serve FATZ® guests in full uniform
to raisen money for the South Carolina Special Olympics and the Law
Enforcement Torch Run.
Snell has hosted four Calabash & Cops events at his
restaurant, helping support the 21,4000 Special Olympics athletes
in South Carolina. Prom Promise is a program Snell started by
partnering with Mothers Against Drunk Driving (M.A.D.D) and School
Resource Officers from local high schools. The program encourages
high school students to make a pledge against drinking and driving
on prom night. In exchange for their promise to remain sober and
safe, FATZ® rewards students with a discount to eat at FATZ® on the
night of their prom.
FATZ® is proud to have Operating Partners who not only care about
their restaurant and neighborhood, but who also act as leaders
within their communities.
