TAYLORS, SC - FATZ® is pleased to host a pancake breakfast at the Woodruff Road restaurant in Greenville, SC, on July 9, 2011, to benefit the Disabled American Veterans (DAV). From 7:30 to 10:30 a.m., FATZ® will open its doors to members of the community and transform into a hotspot for hotcakes to raise money to support the DAV. Proceeds from the breakfast will be used to build better lives for Americaʼs disabled veterans and their families. Since inception in 1920, the DAV has offered benefits assistance for veterans, assisting in filing claims to the Veterans Affairs office for compensation, vocational rehabilitation, education and health services. They also offer services to active duty military, including pre-discharge transition assistance.
Tickets for the pancake breakfast
are $7 each and free for children under 6 years, and can be
purchased by contacting Darla Knight at (864) 320-0975 or
dcamin@charter.net. All attendees are encouraged to bring a
donation to fuel FATZ® fundraising efforts for the Disabled
American Veterans.
FATZ® introduced the idea of a
Pancake Breakfast Fundraiser in 2009 with the specific purpose of
making a difference and helping the local community grow where
every restaurant is located. Since its inception, FATZ® has raised
more than $600,000 for charities and community organizations. FATZ®
opens daily at 11 a.m. serving lunch and dinner to regulars, but on
Saturdays, FATZ® staff volunteer alongside members of the
community to raise money for organizations ranging from local
schools to The United Way.
