TAYLORS, SC - FATZ® is pleased to host a pancake breakfast at the 6750 Pottery Road restaurant in Spartanburg, S.C., on Nov. 19, 2011, to benefit Jennifer Fortner Fund. From 8 -10 a.m., FATZ® will open its doors to members of the community and transform into a hotspot for hotcakes to raise money to support the Jennifer Fortner Fund. In March of 2009, Jennifer was diagnosed with stage 4 Carcinoid Cancer, and her family and friends formed a group, "Jenn's Friends" to help support her. With the help of ʻJennʼs Friendsʼ many charity functions have been held and proceeds from the FATZ® breakfast will be used to help this mother of two take care of medical expenses.
Tickets for Short Stacks for Big Change, a pancake breakfast fundraiser, are $7 and can be purchased by contacting Vicki Webb at (864) 497-8225 or VWebb@windstream.net. All attendees are encouraged to bring a donation to fuel FATZ® fundraising efforts for Jennifer Fortner Fund.
FATZ® introduced the idea of Short Stacks for Big Change in 2009 with the specific purpose of making a difference and helping the local community grow where every restaurant is located. Since its inception, FATZ® has raised more than $1,000,000 for charities and community organizations. FATZ® opens daily at 11 a.m. serving lunch and dinner to regulars, but on Saturdays, FATZ® staff volunteer alongside members of the community to raise money for organizations ranging from local schools to The United Way.
