“This is the fourth year FATZ has been hosting Short Stacks for Big Change breakfasts at our restaurants. It’s a great opportunity for people to enjoy pancakes while supporting important local causes like the Little League team,” said Bobby Quintero, Operating Partner of the FATZ in Greensboro. “We always enjoy meeting members of the community and our main goal is to make a difference by helping local organizations.”
The first FATZ opened in November 1988 with humble roots, operating out of a converted peach shed in Spartanburg, S.C. FATZ was founded with principles to secure a convenient location, develop a varied, reasonably-priced menu, and offer ample portions of quality food, while providing upbeat service in a comfortable atmosphere. The ideals that emerged from that shed all those years ago still stand strong today at every FATZ location.
FATZ has raised over $2 million and counting for charities and community organizations. FATZ opens daily at 11a.m. serving lunch and dinner, but on selected Saturdays FATZ staff work alongside volunteers from the community at Short Stacks for Big Change pancake breakfasts to raise money for organizations ranging from local schools to the United Way. Non-profit groups and organizations are eligible to participate in the Short Stack for Big Change fundraising. These fundraisers take place on Saturday mornings and organizations can contact their local FATZ manager about scheduling one.
