FATZ® HOSTS SHORT STACKS FOR BIG CHANGE TO BENEFIT KERNERSVILLE LITTLE LEAGUE TEAM May 22, 2013

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Bring your appetite and community spirit to FATZ® for their Short Stacks for Big Change pancake breakfast benefiting Kernersville Little League baseball and softball teams. The fundraiser will be held on May 25 from 7 to10 a.m. at the FATZ restaurant located at 619 S. Regional Road, Greensboro, N.C.

All net proceeds from the pancake breakfast will be donated to the Kernersville Little League team to help maintain landscaping of ball fields and to buy uniforms, mechanical scoreboards and spotlights.  The Kernersville Little League team is comprised of 450 local boys and girls who participate in baseball and softball.

Tickets for “Short Stacks for Big Change” are $9, with children 6 years old and under admitted free (limit one free child per adult ticket). To purchase advanced tickets contact Sandra Robertson at (336) 580-1288 or fundraising@kll.org. Tickets will also be available at the door.  Short Stacks for Big Change breakfast includes: pancakes, sausage links, mixed fruit and your choice of coffee, tea, orange juice or milk.

“This is the fourth year FATZ has been hosting Short Stacks for Big Change breakfasts at our restaurants. It’s a great opportunity for people to enjoy pancakes while supporting important local causes like the Little League team,” said Bobby Quintero, Operating Partner of the FATZ in Greensboro.  “We always enjoy meeting members of the community and our main goal is to make a difference by helping local organizations.”

The first FATZ opened in November 1988 with humble roots, operating out of a converted peach shed in Spartanburg, S.C. FATZ was founded with principles to secure a convenient location, develop a varied, reasonably-priced menu, and offer ample portions of quality food, while providing upbeat service in a comfortable atmosphere. The ideals that emerged from that shed all those years ago still stand strong today at every FATZ location.

FATZ has raised over $2 million and counting for charities and community organizations.  FATZ opens daily at 11a.m. serving lunch and dinner, but on selected Saturdays FATZ staff work alongside volunteers from the community at Short Stacks for Big Change pancake breakfasts to raise money for organizations ranging from local schools to the United Way. Non-profit groups and organizations are eligible to participate in the Short Stack for Big Change fundraising.  These fundraisers take place on Saturday mornings and organizations can contact their local FATZ manager about scheduling one.
