ELIZABETHTON, T.N. – The Elizabethton FATZ Cafe® has earned top honors for their friendly hospitality, atmosphere and service. The Elizabethton Star has awarded the Elizabethton FATZ Cafe with their Readers’ Choice Award in the Best Sit-Down Restaurant category. The Readers’ Choice Award was voted on by residents of Carter County and included competition from five other restaurants.
For the past seven years, the Star has encouraged readers to annually vote for their favorite sit-down restaurant and this was the first year that online voting was available. The Elizabethton FATZ Cafe will be given a Readers’ Choice Award for Best Sit-Down Restaurant certificate to display in their restaurant.
“We’re thrilled to be awarded with the Readers’ Choice Award for the Best Sit-Down Restaurant here in Elizabethton. This award is very special because the people of Carter Country actually voted on it,” said Sandy Pucateri, General Manager of the Elizabethton FATZ Cafe. “We were up against some great restaurants in town including Lone Star, Bonnie Kate Cafe and Dino’s and to take the top prize is incredibly exciting. We’re thankful to everyone who voted and the residents of Carter County for their continued support over the years.”
The first FATZ Cafe opened in November 1988 with humble roots, operating out of a converted peach shed in Spartanburg, S.C. FATZ Cafe was founded with principles to secure a convenient location, develop a varied, reasonably-priced menu, and offer ample portions of quality food, while providing upbeat service in a comfortable atmosphere. The ideals that emerged from that shed all those years ago still stand strong today at every FATZ Cafe location.
