FATZ CAFE NAMES ERNIE WASHINGTON AS OPERATING PARTNER AT SENECA RESTAURANT August 27, 2013

SENECA, S.C. – FATZ Cafe® is proud to announce that they have entered into a five year partnership with Ernie Washington to serve as Operating Partner in Seneca, S.C. Mr. Washington has been a FATZ Cafe employee for 17 years, all of which have been served at the Seneca location. This will be his fourth Operating Partner contract with FATZ Cafe. He has made a financial investment to FATZ Cafe and although his agreement is for five years there are subsequent five year options. He will take on a leadership role in fulfilling the FATZ Cafe commitment to superior quality food served with friendly southern hospitality.

Washington joined the Seneca FATZ Cafe in 1996 as a general manager. Two years later, he signed his first Operating Partner contract. Ernie’s favorite aspects of his job are assisting in the development of associate managers and the interaction he gets with guests. Washington has been married to his wife, Robin, who he considers his “rock” for 24 years. In his spare time, Ernie enjoys being involved within the community, NASCAR, golf and Clemson athletics.

“I’m proud and lucky to say that I genuinely love coming to work every day,” said Washington. “I get a great deal of satisfaction when I talk to our guests and they tell me about the great memories that they have created at FATZ Cafe over the years with their friends and family members. That’s what this job is all about and I’m thankful I get to take part in helping to create those memories.”

“It’s been great having Ernie as a part of our team and family for 17 years. It’s even greater that they have all been spent at our Seneca location,” said Jim Balis, CEO of FATZ Cafe. “For almost two decades, Ernie has exhibited a positive attitude and demeanor while maintaining great leadership to employees and guests of the Seneca community. Our Seneca location continues to succeed and Ernie can definitely be attributed to a large percentage of this success.”

The first FATZ Cafe opened in November 1988 with humble roots, operating out of a converted peach shed in Spartanburg, S.C. FATZ Café was founded with principles to secure a convenient location, develop a varied, reasonably-priced menu, and offer ample portions of quality food, while providing upbeat service in a comfortable atmosphere. The ideals that emerged from that shed all those years ago still stand strong today at every FATZ Cafe location.
