SHELBY, N.C. – FATZ Cafe ® is proud to announce that they have entered into a five year partnership with Nate Redmon to serve as Operating Partner in Shelby, N.C. Mr. Redmon has made a financial investment to FATZ Cafe and although his agreement is for five years there are subsequent five year options. He will take on a leadership role in fulfilling the FATZ Cafe commitment to superior quality food served with friendly southern hospitality.
Redmon started with FATZ Cafe of Asheville in May of 2000 as an associate in the back of house and the following year he was promoted to kitchen manager in the Forest City FATZ Cafe. In 2010, Redmon transferred to the Hendersonville location. He also served as a training instructor for several new restaurant openings.
“I came to the Shelby FATZ Cafe in August of 2012 to help restaurant operations and after the time I have spent here I am excited about the opportunity for me and my family to become a permanent part of the Shelby community,” Redmon said. “One of the first things I wanted to do after reaching the agreement with FATZ Cafe was to invest back into the restaurant. My focus was not only to improve the operations, food quality and the service standards but to also provide the community with a restaurant they would be proud to call their own.”
Under Redmon’s leadership, the Shelby FATZ Cafe recently completed the refresh plan for 2013 that included refreshing the woodwork, new table tops, new carpet, new picture layout, new exterior and interior paint with a new décor package.
“Creating a more modern feel while not losing the comfort of the restaurant and the core values of great food and welcoming hospitality was the direction I wanted to take the restaurant,” Redmon said. “I have other ideas that we will continue to incorporate in the building but I feel very good where we are at this time and I hope our guests are as proud of their building as I am.”
“Nate adds 13 years of experience to the leadership team in Shelby and through his direction we have not only improved our internal disciplines but Nate has been instrumental in the refresh plan of the restaurant” said Jim Balis, CEO of FATZ Cafe. “The leadership that Redmon exudes, the excellent guest service he provides accompanied by his experience makes me very confident that Redmon will do great things at the Shelby location.
The first FATZ Cafe opened in November 1988 with humble roots, operating out of a converted peach shed in Spartanburg, S.C. FATZ Café was founded with principles to secure a convenient location, develop a varied, reasonably-priced menu, and offer ample portions of quality food, while providing upbeat service in a comfortable atmosphere. The ideals that emerged from that shed all those years ago still stand strong today at every FATZ Cafe location.
