TAYLORS, SC, September 7, 2010 – The first Fatz Cafe opened 22 years ago in a converted peach shed in Spartanburg, SC, and now, 47 restaurants later, Fatz Cafe is celebrating its birthday by bringing back some favorite dishes from years past and introducing five brand new creations. With appetizers starting from $3.99 and entrees starting at $6.99, every member of the family can join the party from Sept. 9 – Nov. 11, 2010, with 17 different meal options and, of course, birthday cake Fatz style with The “Oh My Gosh” Ice Cream Cookie Sandwich.
"We are incredibly proud of Fatz Cafe's growth from one peach
shed to 47 restaurants and are thrilled to celebrate its success
with our Operating Partners, employees and, most importantly, our
regulars," said Chief Operating Officer Richie Cannon.
To commemorate the anniversary, Fatz Cafe is offering special
items starting at $3.99 on the limited-time Fatz Cafe Birthday
Menu, served at all 47 locations Sept. 9 - Nov. 11, 2010. The
limited-time Fatz Cafe Birthday Menu introduces new soon-to-be
classics, such as Fire-Grilled Calabash Pizza and Hot & Bleu
Kettle Chips, served alongside past Fatz favorites like Big Fatz
Greek Salad and Big Easy Fish & Shrimp Fry.
The quality food, reasonable prices and Southern hospitality
that started in that shed have flourished into 47 different
restaurants in Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Tennessee
and Virginia. The same principles that began all those years ago
are still present today in every Fatz Cafe, where the great food
brings guests in, and the warm, friendly atmosphere turns guests
into regulars.
