TAYLORS, SC – Fatz Cafe has joined forces with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital for Halloween to scare out cancer and other catastrophic diseases for the entire month of October. Children of St. Jude’s have decorated participating Fatz Cafe locations in South Carolina and Georgia in a Halloween theme, giving guests the option to add to the décor and help their fundraising efforts one pumpkin at a time.
Guests are encouraged to "treat" the patients of St. Jude's this
Halloween by adding $1 to their bill to purchase a paper pumpkin
that hangs alongside decorations placed by the kids themselves.
Participating restaurant locations include Anderson, Athens,
Blairsville, Easley, Evans, Greenwood, Jasper, Seneca, Warner
Robins and Winder. All proceeds from these philanthropic pumpkins
will be donated to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital to fund
patient care and cancer research.
St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, located in Memphis,
Tenn., is internationally recognized for its pioneering research
and treatment of children with catastrophic diseases, treating more
than 20,000 children from across the U.S. and 70 foreign countries.
The money raised by Fatz Cafe will help fund St. Jude's mission to
advance cures for pediatric diseases through research and
treatment.
Fatz Cafe values the opportunity to support and strengthen its
surrounding community in all 47 locations across five different
states. The National Restaurant
Association recently distinguished Fatz Cafe as a finalist for
the 2010 Restaurant
Neighbor Award, honoring companies each year that have gone
above and beyond in giving back to their communities.
